If your into consulting, than this book is for you. I can’t put the book down as I find it so interesting. Filled with great information about a project manager’s job as well as all the resources and intellectual properties one needs to succeed in project management. I will read this book twice and always have on hand as a resource to look back upon. This is an educational book that has tons of information that will make you a great project manager and consultant. This is not the only book you need to study with though. I read the book and took some practice questions and got them all wrong. This will not prep you for the exam alone. Also, don’t waste your money on the 35 hour training with PMI. It’s not worth it!

I’ve been studying project management for a little under a year now and have used a few educational texts. I found the PMBOK to be exceptionally well written and clear in communicating concepts compared to other texts and even some audio/visual material. Perhaps the only other book that comes close is Kathy Schwalbe’s text but I found it to be repetitive at times.
The PMBOK arrived only partially sealed (but was listed as brand new?) and damaged, which for the price point is truly unfortunate. Five stars for the book, it really is the only text you need for reference in your PM learning journey.
